Preparing for the future

Ages 2-5

All kids have great potential. The Y is committed to helping young children to learn, play and make friends as they work on skills that prepare them for the academic years ahead. A leading nonprofit strengthening community through youth development, we work every day to help them build skills and confidence for success in both the classroom and on the playground.

The Portage YMCA Preschool Academy is a nine month program for children 2-5 yrs old who are one, two or three years away from kindergarten. Our dedicated teachers help children reach their full potential in an academically structured environment. They work closely with the PTS Kindergarten  teachers to assist us in remaining current on all the requirements your child will need for school success. As a participant in our preschool, your family will also have the opportunity to join so many activities the Y has to offer at the member rate. Financial scholarships are available for low income families.

Registration is open! Must Register at the YMCA.

The 2021- 2022 School Year runs Tuesday, September 7, 2021 thru Friday, May 20, 2022, following the Portage Township Schools Calendar for most holidays and breaks. Students who are promoted to Kindergarten Fall 2022, will be celebrated at a formal Graduation Ceremony & Family Field Day Picnic on Saturday, May 21, 2022.

First months class fees are due by September 1, 2021 and continue monthly through May 1, 2022. A non-refundable $50 registration fee is due at the time of registration. Automatic payments are required.
